We are very excited to have the opportunity to move to this cool place, Hudiksvall’s old power plant, which reminds us of when the second industrial revolution came to town. Now the building can contribute to the fourth!

We will be working on renovation and furnishing to hopefully move in by the end of the year. Follow us on our Instagram!

The power station was built in 1909 to supply Hudiksvall’s urban area with electricity, mainly for lighting. In 1911, according to old documents, there were 9168 incandescent lamps and 196 lamps for street lighting connected. The house eventually also had a backup system in the form of a battery and a steam turbine supplied with steam from a nearby boiler.

Unfortunately, it has been difficult to get hold of pictures from when it happened. Perhaps someone knows where it might be, or has other interesting facts to contribute?
